This type of counseling is rendered to couples or to single people who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or have had/adopted a child in the last 18 months to 2 years. Sometimes, it also encompasses therapuetic work around ending a pregnancy, losing out on an adoption or a donor, and unexplained infertility. For those who are considering (or are forced to because of your sexualtiy) about adoption, it is inclusive of guidance on the baby’s birth and future, coping with friends and family members, and dealing with any effects on the biological parents.
I offer a unique service to the queer community by way of counseling both bio and non-bio parents. Becoming a parent is becoming a parent, regardless of your sexual identity or relationship status.
